6th ANNUAL SUMMER WAKE-UP WORKSHOP!

Summer 2016 (Monday, August 15th - Friday, August 19th)

Location: Coast Academy of Dance, Sechelt, BC

 

The annual Summer Wake-Up Workshop was created in 2011, by director Sammie Broomhall. It takes place at the Coast Academy of Dance, located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, in Sechelt, BC.

Growing more successful each year, the workshop is now 5 days long, and is open to students aged 7 and up (age 6 with dance experience). There are three levels available for registration, as well as adult classes in the evenings. The workshop includes all styles of dance - Ballet, Jazz, Street Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Tap, Hip Hop, House, Broadway Jazz, Bootcamp/Conditioning, and Yoga! Also included in the schedule is a mock audition class and a Q&A session with the faculty, to allow the students the experience of an audition in a comfortable environment, as well as ask questions about what it's like to be a professional in the industry.

A showcase takes place on the last day of the workshop, giving the students an opportunity to perform some of the pieces they've learnt throughout the week, and allowing family & friends the chance to see how the dancers have grown over the the week-long workshop.
